Welcome to Pure Country Paints & Q.H.'s

We are located just outside of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Home of the Calgary Stampede! We are twenty minutes out of the city, and east of the beautiful Alberta foothills, where the movies Unforgiven and Legends of the Fall were filmed, as well as others. This is definitely quarter horse country, and we are breeding performance horses that like to watch a cow.

We stood the quarter horse stallion Got Pep for several years and have retained some daughters. We now have a Grulla son of Smartest Little Pep, and hope to aquire some grulla and dun colour for the herd.

Got Pep is a Bay son of Peppy San Badger, and out of the producing mare Pepsi Playgirl. She is a daughter of Freckles Playboy, and out of NCHA World Champion Doc O Lena daughter Lenaette.

We are a small family operation with a great admiration of the performance bred quarter horse. We have had the help of some excellent people in acquiring our horses, including Carl and Julia Gerwien, owners of Willow Spring Ranch in Nanton, Alberta, and Nick Bartlett, owner of 5 Bar Ranch in California. These people have made a tremendous impact in the kind of horses we are raising today, and our best wishes and thanks go out to them. And thank you to all the mare owners who bred to our stallions, and to customers who purchased horses.
